Dear Pastor Warren
You lead an excellent forum, but truthfully, there's a lot you don't know or
choose to overlook for the sake of civility.
There are things worth dying for, but not the crimes of the United States Government.
Jeremiah Wright was telling a lot of truth. I won't call any church a
whore, but he knows a lot of truth. Don't be afraid of the truth, please.
It's the lack of the truth that is
harming this nation... and the world. ( You may choose not to believe these truths,
but they are true. Civility
will not abate these atrocities).
If you don't acknowledge that, nothing will actually change.
I have a purpose driven life. I refuse to compromise on its goals. It's cost me a great
deal of suffering at the hands of the people you interviewed.
Please deal with that truth.
And then, like my father always said, do the best thing, the right thing, not
necessarily the best thing for you. Prove yourself to God. The time is now.
If you disregard this, it would not be a failure of me, it would be your failure to
God. Don't ever forget that
He's my boss, I understand His concerns and priorities. Please read the Bible as the
owner's manual. You have an opportunity to make the difference.
The question for you, as for everyone, is, do you really believe in the God and the
scriptures you claim to believe in? So far, the answer I've seen in the world is no. Let's
see if there is even one with the courage to change that. Other than me.

Pastor Warren...there is one issue that
I'd like to address with you, and I request that you accept, as many others have come to accept, that my directness is not intended to be criticism (except with
politiciian, anymore)
I ask you to take this on as an inquiry, particularly in the
context of a purpose driven life...
Are we really here to work? Here we are in heaven, and it's
a playground, and sure, there are things to do and responsibilities, but if God really
sent us here to work, wouldn't that be purpetuating the same economic slavery paradigm
that Jesus was actually so opposed to, and untimately was a great theme of His messages.
Please think about this, and I believe it will alter your
outlook, perceptions and positions on a number of things.

about evil Something you should consider when understandingthe source
of the evil in the world today.
Just for the record, are you a member of the Council on Foreign
Relations? I think we have a right to the answer to that question. The people who write
the "Left Behind" Series, Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins http://www.leftbehind.com/ ARE
members of the Council on Foreign Relations.
8/18/2008 - 7pm PT: Just caught you on Larry King - 1 other thing I'd like you to
take on as an inquiry... and this truly is not a criticism, it is part of my request that
we all embark on a reconciliation with ourselves and then atonement, whatever we belive
that means to ourselves in our relationships to God.
When you stated McCain was in a cone of silence, you either didn't know he wasn't there
as agreed to, or you did, in either case, it was untrue.
When Mr. McCain played along an did not disclose that he wasn't in the cone of
silence.. he lied.. and you let him get away with it.
On one hand, I can see your allowing John to say what he said.. but you should have
taken the moment on Larry King to simply acknowledge that it wasn't the case, and instead
of glossing it over, you should have used it as an example of the lack of accountability
and the example of how "special people" think they can break the rules, and it's
okay.
I'm not going to question McCain's integrity on this matter... but your letting it go
for the sake of civility is the very thing that allows evil - lack of accountability - to
be the norm instead of the exception.
It is what Gandhi would call "participating with evil" or "cooperating
with evil"... please think of that, the rippling effect it causes... and as a
minister, who else is supposed to set the example of holding people to their word? No, no
such thing as perfection. But...basic principles... what
could be more basic than this
See, this is at the crux of my purpose driven life... and the reason I'm going to ask
ministers to read Ecclesiastes once a week for a while. Or at least keep it in mind.

Corporation - Rock the Boat
I'm not saying you're being vain or conceited. I've grown up in the same culture
as you.
People attempted to train me to overlook things and not step in when "wrong"
things were happening.
Stepping in on behalf of someone or something - speaking truth to power and domination
- may not have made me the most popular person at times, though occasionally it did. (I am
a good Samaritan)
I knew that I had done the right thing. And that the example I set would leave an
impression on other people. I knew that when they saw me stand up to evil, in its simplest
forms, that they would believe it could be overcome, see that it backs down when
confronted, and be given permission to follow the example, understanding WHY it was the
right thing to do.
And then, even if those people didn't like me anymore, I could actually watch and see
that it made a difference in their lives and those they touched.
I also knew it wasn't that they disliked me, it was because they were embarassed
because they knew in their hearts they weren't measuring up even to their own standards,
and I was a reminder of that.
The look in their eyes was not a look of hatred, but an atonement in their own minds.
And maybe a little afraid or ashamed to be found out, even though all I was concerned with
is that they learn something, forgive themselves, and move on as the good people they knew
themselves to be.
