Church Music - Mixes By Artists
You May Not Have Considered Christian or spiritual because
of other work that seems inconsistent. My mother's
Bible said musicians were God's Angels. I believe they're also
prophets, as they cause us to consider things in ways we never did
before. In ways that would have us all be more conscious,
understanding and realizing God's ways.
Who would have believed that this song was by
Pink Floyd - Delicate Sound of Thunder
(Disc - 07) - On the Turning Away
and would have me more fully understand how musicians have been
trying to tell us for generations, and how even I had not noticed
the condition of the world.
Some of the artists I select in the mixes and features will
surprise you, and some are dedicated to certain people for reasons
they do or will understand. :}

What there is to know, to think about

It has always been that each family is a
church unto itself, with the responsibility to pass the heritage
of their beliefs and the history of their worlds and nations to
the younger generations so that they remember and learn from the
mistakes and successes of the past so that every generation of
humanity lived a better life spiritually and as a whole. These are
songs of people who have "fought the good fight" God's
way for generations, singing the truth of the situations, and
telling the stories of those involved in the issues that affect us
all at the foundations... so we never forget... and we honor the
principles and values we claim. |

In the early 1980's I began writing a book that
wasn't completed regarding the rippling effects of dominance and
submission, more likely commonly recognized as the Golden Rule or
Win-Win relationships. MROOT is what I call Massive
Re-Organization Of Thought, the ability to have one piece of
information corrected or inserted that ends up altering what the
prior facts presented as truth. It's like a computer database that
allows you to alter a field of information with one pushbutton. |

I understood long ago that the government had a
lot to do with job creation, as well as making sure that enough
people were attracted to certain professions to make sure work got
done. It didn't occur to me that the government was
practicing classism. When Ronald Reagan talked about allowing
corporations to run certain government functions, such as
operating prisons, I thought it would be a good thing,
professionals working with criminals to reduce repeat offenders
and help these people to resolve whatever drove them to crime. It
did not occur to me that the government would pass law laws that
would make it easier for corporate prisons to make a profit. |

For Tipper Gore. I dedicate this to her
for two reasons. First to kid around with a good sport. Second, to
make a point of how easy it is to label people and artists and
politicians and others without knowing the truth of their real
personal convictions. FTR: I actually agree with movie and lyric
ratings, when it doesn't interfere with true self-expression. |

People's impressions of Christianity and people of
religions and faiths - their images have not held up well for one
reason or another. These are songs I'm hoping Christians and
others will listen to and be able to laugh at, at the songs and
themselves, in order to be more willing to get along with those
who don't conform to a certain way or profession, but want to live
by the same Golden Rule they think have been betrayed either by
people of faith or by leaders of any kind. |
