For the Love of the World

A Letter To Donny McClurkin

God Works In Mysterious Ways

For Donny McClurkin

I wrote this song for you to sing a few years back: February 26, 2004 as a matter of fact... I was going to visit you at your church and put it in the offering plate but I ran out of money. But these are the lyrics, and I want you to record it...the melody is easy, play it any way you like as soon as possible. I love yer stuff.

Here's one I really like that's so different, I'm gonna give it away. :} It's the message that's important. I'd put it on my song page, but I'm giving away the rights to you, too, that way I don't have to identify myself in any way.  I'm weird like that, you know. :} (I wrote a note to send to you that would have provided verification of this by my handwriting should anyone have questioned your permission to use it)

Bless the Fallen Angels

Here’s a simple message to the ones who’ve lost their way
God has not forgotten you
Though you’ve gone astray
He understands the way you feel
It’s why He sends His love
A never ending stream of life
A promise to become
Bless the fallen angels
Lord thy will be done

Bless the fallen angels
Each and every one
Warm them with the loving arms
Of the rising son
Give them strength and hope and courage
Til the Kingdom’s come
Lift their spirits to the sky
There’s so much joy to come
Bless the fallen angels
Lord, thy will be done.

(Chorus)
Bless them Lord, bless them Lord
Bless them in the light
Like the day that they were born
Even when their tears are dry
Tell them I still love them
Love with all my might
Bless the fallen angels
Let them know it’ll be alright

Bless the fallen angels
Let them see the light
Bless the fallen angels
Morning noon and night
Let them know there’s reason for
Their suffering in the fight
Not too long from now they’ll see
The victory that's to come    OR the victory in their sight
Bless the fallen angels
Lord thy will be done.

Hi Donnie :}

So, here's soundicon.gif (1101 bytes) an urgent message for you from God and I. I hope you'll take the time to listen to it.

And here's a soundicon.gif (1101 bytes) really rough cut of the song... came out different on the blue guitar, but it's pretty. I'm sure you can do it better. I hope you will.

PS Smokey says hi! :}

PSS: Can't wait to see what the media does with this stuff :}

PS: Interestingly enough, I wrote up this request for you to do this song, and then, wondered where I'd put the original letter, and was looking in my briefcase for something else, and there it was. I really DO want you to do this song. And I did make a recording...

You'll like this: I just noticed  on the original, I hand wrote a message at the bottom. In retrospect the second seems like the right one. The psyops guys know the melody, so have Kyra hook you up with them or me and I'll play it for you... but it's as simple a melody as it seems.

Someday, you'll actually want to see the letter I wrote, 'cuz there are some things on it I actually wanted to say to you. Thanks for doing what you're doing, God loves you for it...

Ok, the opening paragraphs:

Dear Pastor McClurkin -

First, may God bless you again and again.

I was listening to your music last night, and just want to tell you how much I love the way you sing and play your music. It's truly a gift to the world. I was especially taken by the song "We Expect You"... which is exactly what prompted me to write this.

BTW: It goes on to talk about how I was going to anonymously visit your church on my birthday in 2004, but, here we are now. :}
