What is
The
Soundtrack of Our Lives? Part I 6/9/2008
You may wonder why I've posted all this music on this site the way I have.
It's not about violating copyrights or depriving people of well earned royalties. It's
about promoting music and the arts of all kinds. And we all know what it's like to have
good days and other days when you can't make a dime expressing your freedom of spirit and
channeling the connection between you and God. Like I always say, it's my job to
write 'em down.. :}
I walked into a United Methodist Church one day, in response to their ad on CNN in
2002, and proceeded to tell the minister what I was doing and who I was. I told him I
wanted to create global peace and abundance for all.
I have to hand it to him. I knew I'd set my sights on a pretty high bar, but he looked
me in the eye and said "What do you really want to do with your life". I was
certain he believed I was going through a mid-life crisis of some sort. Besides that, I'd
told him I believed I was THE Son of Man.
And I looked him in the eye and said "Create global peace and abundance for
all". The specific dates and all are in my old weblogs and some emails I sent about
it.
The thing is, though, since I was small, I was always involved in music and theater and
painting.. and I was a "good Samaritan" styled, "Golden Rule
Christian".
After hanging out with my friends at Soquel High School in Santa Cruz, California, I
realized that what they really wanted and that what I really wanted was a place where I
could go, like a farm, where we could all live and share work and sort of share
the land (The Guess Who) and responsibilities. It wasn't about sex, it was about
community, but it wasn't a commune, it was like a family. Sort of like something I think
they used to call a city, but where people actually cared about the well being of the
other people who lived there.
All this would allow us all to pursue our artistic interests, and always have a safe
place to be through the more creative and less creative times.
So, I wrote up a proposal to Ruth Astor, of the Astor Foundation, about creating the
Family of Artists and Musicians. It included everything from growing crops, developing
solar power, turning septic system wastes into methane, fertilizer and such.
It also included crops and fields of flowers.. presumably to export. But, also for the
beauty. 1 big field of roses of every kind. A radio station and publishing company. All to
empower and train individuals about how to make a living doing their beautiful work.
And I make no bones about re-stating over and over, that the Bible says musicians are
God's Angels. Alabama - Angels Among Us
It's clear, by reading and listening more, that all artists are God's Angels... and
more importantly, it's in all of us, the gift to express ourselves in response to the
holographic nature of the cosmos, to provide what is needed for oneself and to cause the
rippling effect - spreading the contagion of love - that's needed so much, especially in
times like these. We are ALL God's Angels, (Tuck & Patti -
Love is the Key) and it's time for everyone to realize that fact.
I could go on and on about the concentric plan that includes everything (and probably
will :}) And, if you're like me and believe in synchronicity...
Over the years, I've made many drawings of what "The Farm" - The Family of
Artists & Musicians - (I used to have a web site called FarmArts.com) would look like.
It was always close to the same.
A house near a pond, an administration building, classrooms, an auditorium, the radio
station, places for instructors to live, a campground for people coming to participate...
I even drew up one rendition that looked just like the town where "The Hobbit"
was filmed... all the way down to the house built into the side of the hill.
The funny thing is, all that caused a paradox for me because those drawings look alot
like where I live now, where the eagles fly with the doves... I'd always thought I'd end
up in Santa Cruz on the old family homestead in the hills of Scotts Valley if I ever got
enough money to buy it. And then, there's Bridgeville, a town that keeps getting sold on
e-Bay... across the Mad River from the Big Bend Ranch where I used to live. And another
project the GDCU's been involved with.

The synchronicity of it all tells me it's simply meant to be. Everywhere.
The point then, and now, was to cause a global renaissance of the arts.
And the cool part is, it's actually happening in a lot of places. Sundance is a good
example of the same idea. Even Robert Redford can't do it all himself.
That's part of what I'm doing now. Along with re-introducing some of the old time
concepts of love and devotion and freedom that I grew up with, using the music to
spread the word of the true Plan of God, and using the rhythm to break up the hypnotic
effect of the psychotronics.
I always said I couldn't really do it by myself, without some sort of
international communications network and the ability to broadcast music to touch people's
hearts. That is now, obviously, possible.
There's much more to the plan, especially for those who don't want to be part of a
corporate machine and who would like to share that part of themselves with others, for
profit or just art for art's sake.
(I was introduced to 10 CC years ago as an "experimental band". Keep your
sense of humor handy for these. I'll probably have to explain them later).
10 CC - Worst Band In The World (Please keep in mind, when they say "up
yours", they mean "up your level of consciousness").
10CC - Art for Art's Sake I know I'll have to explain this one.
The last thing I'd like to say about this for now is that I spent some time telling
people about this plan over the years.
As sort of a tribute to a particular man who I didn't get to know as well as I could
have, I'll tell you that he and I discussed a part of the plan that allowed musicians and
artists to come to the Farm to teach and do their art.
We talked about the program to place artists and musicians in schools - volunteer and
paid positions - in order to show young people that the beautiful art and talent that God
gave them could be satisfying to themselves, like a tonic, as well as a product they could
sell to make a living or even finance another project without having to deal with all the
legalities and encumbrances of marketing.
That man was Billy Preston, and he knew what it was all about.
That's the Way God Planned It.
